Hallabong ice cream is extremely famous in Jeju Island. Those of you who are traveling in Jeju Island, it is highly recommended to try this ice cream. Why the name is Hallabong? well, since Jeju Island is greatly well-known as the centre of korean sweet tangerine world. In indonesia 귤 or tangerine or citrus orange we often call ‘Jeruk Mandarin’ and it is always available when it comes to Chinese New Year. The shape of the Hallabong protrudes at the top is like the shape of the hallasan or the summit of Mt.Halla so that is why they name it Hallabong. The price of this ice cream ranging from 3,000 won – 5,000 won.
2. Satay Grilled Squid 문어 꼬치
When it comes to island life and cuisine, seafood naturally comes to mind, Therefore satay grilled squid is one of the street foods in Jeju Island. This satay is mixed with sauce that you can choose according to flavors (there are two flavors: Spicy and Non-Spicy). Additionally, a sprinkling of dried Bonito flakes (Bonito flakes is dried, fermented, and smoked skipjack Tuna. 3. Jeju Hanchi Bread 한치 빵
This hanchi bread only exists in Jeju Island So, guys you can’t miss this street food. This hanchi bread is shaped like a squid or octopus made from flour dough that has been mixed with squid so while having this inside your mouth, you are able to taste the flavors of the squid and the yummy mozzarella cheese. Those of you who are cheese and squid lovers, This food is highly recommended. for the price of hanchi bread ranging from 3,000 won – 5,000 won.
4. Korean Sweet Pancakes 호떡
This sweet pancake or 호떡 is one of the most popular korean street snacks. this sweet pancake originally was introduced by Chinese Immigrants in the early 1900s in Korea. This pancake is particularly popular in winter. This pancake is stuffed with brown sugar, honey, peanut and cinnamon powder. A single pancake only 500 won.
5. Korean Fish Cake 오뎅
This street food is insanely well known as Korean Drama Cuisine since Many Korean dramas tend to show a lot this street food throughout the show. Odeng is korean version of fish cake and originally from Japan called Oden. Besides being absolutely delicious, It is cheap. The price for one stick of odeng is only 500 won.
6. Korean Fish Bread 붕어빵
This fish-shaped bread is also insanely popular since you always see this in many korean dramas. This fish pastry is particularly popular in winter. The inside of this fish shape bread is often stuffed with sweet read bean although nowadays there are variations of bungeobbang fillings. Traveling in jeju island in winter, you can’t miss this fish-shaped bread. The price of a single fish-shaped bread ranging from 1,000 won – 3,000 won.
7. Squid bread 문어 빵
Squid bread or 문어 빵 is a bit different from hanchi bread. Aside from the shape, the hanchi bread is also different in the processed flour from the squid bread. The flour processed in this bread does not have a squid taste only flour and mozzarella cheese. But even though there is no taste of squid inside the flour, this bread is really delicious and highly recommended to try while traveling in Jeju island. the price is just 2,000 won.
8. Hallabong Orange Juice 한라봉 오렌지 주스
I am absolutely sure that you guys already know jeju island as the center of korean sweet tangerine world. One of the processed oranges besides ice cream and chocolate is Hallabong orange juice. this juice no need sweetener or coloring for its flavors so the juice is originally sweet and sour flovours. Traveling around in Jeju, you will easily find this orange juice. There are two flavors, sweet and sour, you can choose based on your flavors. You will also find Hallabong orange juice in a hareubang-shaped bottle. the price of a bottled orange juice ranging from 4,000 won – 5,000 won
9. Sweet Spicy Shrimp Gangjeong 새우 강정
This street food is a combination of shrimps, french fries, rice cakes and Korean sweet spicy sauce. It is so delicious and flavorful with sprinkled dried seaweed on it. Those of you who shrimp lovers, This food is highly recommended while travelling in Jeju Island. A portion of sweet spicy shrimp gangjeong is 9,000 won.
10. Waffles 와플
This street food can’t be missed when you are visiting Jeju Island. This waffle cake has two variants such as apple and strawberry. You can choose flavors based on your taste. The price for a waffle ranging from 2,000 won – 4,000 won.
