Where is Jeju Island ?

Jeju Island or Jejudo 제주도 (제주 is the name of the island and do 도 means Island) is located in the southern part of the mainland island (Seoul and surrounding areas). Does anyone know that jeju island is three times bigger than Seoul (dont tell me you guys got to know after reading this ?? ^ _-) and jeju island is often referred to as the “Hawaii of Korea, Bali of Indonesia and Okinawa of Japan” do you know why? because this island is extremely well-known for its natural beauty of Nature and greatly renowned as a honeymoon destination for locals. in addition, due to the natural beauty of its nature such as oreum (oreum 오름 is a small volcano located in the main volcanic crater in jeju island) lava tubes, flora and fauna. All of them are still wonderfully natural or virgin, therefore to keep them all from the extinction, Jeju Island is listed as one of UNESCO’s world natural heritage destinations and also as one of the 7 wonders of nature in the world in 2011.

Jeju Island is the largest island in South Korea and also the only province in South Korea that has special autonomy. special autonomy is a special area that carries out special government functions and national interest such as national parks, cultural heritage areas, ports and free trade etc. in Indonesia jeju island is like the special regions of Yogyakarta or Aceh.

Jeju Island has two major cities First, JejuSi 제주시 or Jeju City . This area is the capital of Jeju Island where the majority of government districts, airports, markets, residential housing, and shopping centers are located in this region. This area is the easiest area for us to find restaurants .and hotels. Secondly, SeogwipoSi 서귀포시 or Seogwipo City. This is the area for tourist attractions in Jeju Island. Therefore, the locals or international tourists, coming to visit Jeju Island, will look for and book the lodgings in the Jeju City area which is close to the airport and rental car, then they will travel by taking car to Seogwipo City.

Even though it is only an island, Jeju has 4 seasons autumn 가을, winter 겨울, spring 봄, summer 여름. In spite of having 4 seasons, the weather in Jeju island is muchly warm all year round compared to the mainland island of Korea.
